My design process is to start from the brainstorming stage including, think, talk and interpret. Having discussion with others is the first step. Discussions can generally facilitate understanding others’ ideas and those ideas may be translated into my design through initial drafts and sketches. At this stage, it often changes the design concept because everyone has different perspective, background and knowledge. The second stage is analysis. Researching related information and background is important and helpful. After research, it turns into re-think and re-talking through the steps. In this step, finding the design points/gaps between discussions’ ideas and the information from research is critical. Next, I combine the ideas and data into a concept and then continue discussions until the final concept is made. Once the final concept is designed, it starts the process of drafts, sketches and prototypes. Lastly, is asking for feedback from others and making improvement or redesigning.
